Every BriefBash brief ends with an AI Citation Score (0–10): how likely AI engines are to quote the analyzed page. This page is the full scoring standard. It is model-assessed, and here is exactly how.
| Score | Band | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 1–3 | Not citable | AI engines will not quote this page |
| 4–6 | Partially citable | Quotable sections exist but blockers remain |
| 7–8 | Citable | Safe to cite; minor gaps |
| 9–10 | Authoritative source | AI engines preferentially quote pages like this |
Score — the model assesses the page's citation worthiness on a 0–10 scale.
Blockers — each blocker is a pair: an issue and its points ({issue, points}). Points are the exact number of score points you recover by fixing that issue (1–3 each). Blockers turn the diagnosis into a construction plan: fix them and the score climbs by exactly what is printed.

The conservation rule — score + sum of blocker points = potential_score, always. The engine enforces this reconciliation itself: it recomputes potential from the score and the printed blocker points, so the chips on your page and the reachable score never disagree, regardless of what the model claims.
GEO factors — llms.txt, AI crawler access (robots.txt) and schema markup are three hard signals, measured directly from the live site — not model opinion. When any of them is missing, it must appear as a blocker with the largest point values, because these gate discoverability: if AI crawlers can't reach the page, nothing else on it matters.

Guardrails — scores above 10 are normalized (a model that outputs 62 means 6). Potential is only clamped, never invented: if no valid potential and no blocker points are present, no potential is shown. We don't flatter.
Rubric v1, published Nov 5, 2026. The score is model-assessed against this rubric; GEO signals (llms.txt, crawler access, schema) are measured directly from the live site. We rescore monthly. We score ourselves too — our own landing page scored 4/10 on Nov 5. Watch it climb.
